My name is Kara Naomi Shaw I am a qualified level 3 Personal Trainer, motivator and lifestyle coach, I graduated my BA Hons in Sports Development, Health, Fitness and Exercise at Staffordshire University. My qualifications are extensive and can be viewed in the qualification section on this page.
I specialise in body and lifestyle remodelling, your body is your home. Much like the house you live in, when things don't function correctly inside or don't look how we want them to on the outside we fix things and change it to how we want it to look, or repair it to function correctly.
By remodelling your diet and lifestyle you can achieve optimal results, whatever your goals KFit is ready to help.
Amongst my qualifications I hold the level 3 qualification Exercise Referral, allowing me to help those with health conditions such as COPD, Osteoporosis, back pain, Depression, Obesity, Diabetes, Hypertension and many more.
My goal is to help you attain your health, fitness and lifestyle goals whatever these may be, helping you to change your mind-set and develop healthy habits that will allow you to reach, sustain your goals and live a long healthy happy lifestyle.
I will empower you to realise that you can change your life and health for the better, it is within us all and when given the correct support we can achieve anything, I will be there to guide you.
My methods encompass a wide range of training methods from chair based training, to HIIT training, I am qualified to cater for all ages and levels of fitness and ability.
All 1-1 personal training sessions includes a full body postural assessment, I also train for muscular balance, which is essential for postural health. (information available below)
I WILL push you, I WILL motivate you to achieve your best, but this will never be beyond your abilities. It is scientifically proven that in order to achieve optimal results we need to step out of our comfort zone and push our limits, otherwise our fitness/ weight loss levels will plateau and no further progression will be made.
If you are looking for a 'quick fix' or 'magic milkshake' to drink then I am NOT the coach for you. I DO NOT support fad diets as these are scientifically proven to be unsustainable and essentially deprive the body of the nutrient it needs in order to function correctly.
If you want or need that push, aspire to attain long lasting results that you can sustain, are willing to make healthy eating choices, which does NOT mean cutting out ALL of your favourite foods, are willing to dedicate some time to be active but NOT going the gym every day or losing out on social time, then I may be the coach for you.
I believe that there are too many images in which people are aspiring to become, why aspire to be similar to others? when you can strive to be the best version of yourself'.

Programmes are designed specifically with YOU, YOUR POSTURE, YOUR GOALS and ABILITIES in mind. A full body postural assessment will be carried out prior.
These can be designed for home or gym use, although I specialise in body weight training utilising equipment, I am more than able to produce a programme utilising resistance machines and other gym equipment.
All programmes are designed with your exercise likes and dislikes in mind. Anything you do not like can always be changed or adapted to suit; remember you are in charge of your fitness journey.
Programmes perform the function of providing a progressive fitness regime designed to gradually push your fitness levels to a higher spectrum. This will involve some feelings of discomfort, raised heart rate, breathing rate and sweat, these are all natural processes.
The discomfort we feel after training is called D.O.M.S (Delayed onset muscle soreness) our muscles are repairing and restoring stronger than before.
Programmes can be purchased and a minimum of one 1-1 PT session must be purchased to enable the client to learn correct technique before the programme is released.
Programme £50.00 & PT 1-1 £25.00 = £75.00
Ideal for those wanting to train on their own, or short term PT.
Q. I have been exercising for years and have extensive exercise experience, can I not just pay for the programme?
A. It would be unprofessional and extremely dangerous to provide a programme without first demonstrating correct technique, I myself used to think that I was experienced before I began to study the subject. Poor tuition leads to poor technique, muscular and postural damage. So the answer is no I'm afraid.

Movement and function require a balance of muscle between opposing muscle surrounding a joint.
Normal amounts of opposing force between muscles are necessary to keep the bones centred in the joint during motion.

I have devised the KFIT PLAN, for a long while now my clients have been asking me for my recipes, so finally I have manged to find the time to get some together, these are every day foods for everyday people much like myself. I have tweaked them and made them into healthier meals using fresh, healthier and more natural ingredients, each has detailed cooking methods, ingredients and have been calorised per portion for your ease.
This is not a fad diet! the reason fad diets don't work is because they are not sustainable, the KFIT PLAN contains recipes that you can continue to eat even after you have reached your goals. The plan is designed to help you plan ahead, make healthier choices and take control over what you are consuming, this can be for weight loss, weight gain or maintaining weight the choice is yours. The reason most of us eat unhealthy food is either the lack of planning, getting caught short or the lack of knowledge, this food plan gives you the knowledge to choose healthier options and allows you to plan, shop for and prepare your meals.
There are breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks, puddings and drinks all calorised for you to choose from at your leisure. Images of each recipe with instructions for you to download or even print.
You can choose whether you wish to just alter your food plan yourself, or I can offer you advice on how many calories to consume per day.
THIS IS ADVICE! I AM NOT A DIETITIAN!
The advice will be based on your (BMR) basal metabolic rate (this is the number of calories your body needs to survive before any activity) your age, your gender, your weight and your height, other factors to be considered are your body composition, job description and your activity rate.
The calculation will be offered to you and it is for you to choose meals and snacks from the plan to fulfil your calorie allowance per day.
These calculations will change as your BMR changes or goals are achieved so 6 weekly check ins are advisable.
KFIT recommends a VARIED HEALTHY DIET AND LIFESTYLE for optimal results.
DIET! I dislike the word, only due to the fact that when diet is mentioned everyone immediately thinks deprivation!
This is not the case, we are living in a world where food, any food especially unhealthy food is on tap, it is everywhere you look and there is no getting away from it.
The reality is a diet is whatever we are eating and drinking, whether it be a fast food diet or a vegetarian diet either way it is a diet.
It is entirely the individuals choice to opt into the kind of diet they wish to consume, however! your diet will determine your health, your mood and your energy levels, all in all what you consume is absorbed and distributed throughout the body.
We need to take control of what we eat and educate ourselves around food and its purpose, the purpose of food is not to feed it is to fuel our bodies.
Your body is your machine, when treated well it will see you in good stead throughout life, you wouldn't put cooking oil in the petrol tank of your car would you?
